The Future of Entrepreneurship Starts Now!

Entrepreneurs are launching transformative companies all across the U.S. Yet today, 75% of investment in the U.S. goes to just three states; only 5% of investment goes to women, and 3% goes to people of color. The future of entrepreneurship lies in supporting entrepreneurs tackling real world problems relevant to their communities' strengths.

The event will feature a discussion with Steve Case about the past, present, and future of technology and innovation. Drawing on his experience as an entrepreneur and investor, Steve will explain how the next generation of entrepreneurs have the tools necessary to transform major “real world” sectors like health, education, food, and energy. Then, you’ll see what the future looks like. Village Capital will launch our new initiative, VilCap Communities, to help cities across America reboot the American Dream. You’ll hear from 12-15 leaders across the country on how they are generating a vision of a better future.

Keynote Speaker

Steve Case

CoFounder, AOL and CEO, Revolution

Steve Case is one of America’s best-known and most accomplished entrepreneurs, and a pioneer in making the internet part of everyday life. Steve will discuss the future of entrepreneurship in the U.S., pulling from his experience as an entrepreneur and investor. He will also highlight how the next generation of Internet entrepreneurs can solve problems both in America and around the world.

About VilCap Communities

Communities build entrepreneurs. VilCap Communities has recruited an elite group of ecosystem leaders and investors from across the U.S. to share and spread best practices. We will partner with these communities to help them find, train, and invest in startups in their geographies using our peer-selection methodology, where the entrepreneurs themselves decide who receives investment. By providing startups with business fundamentals and implementing Village Capital’s peer selection model, VilCap Community leaders will help breakdown the barriers and biases that accompany the traditional investment dynamic.
